Photo: Yana Volfson
This drink from Yana Volfson at Peels, a liquid tribute to rocker Joey Ramone, uses all American ingredients, from the Laird's Applejack, made in New Jersey, to Kedem grape juice, made from New York Concord grapes.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces Lairds Bonded Applejack
- 1/2 ounce Concord grape syrup (see below)
- 3/4 ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice
Procedures
-
*For Concord grape syrup: Boil three 22 ounce bottles Kedem Concord Grape Juice in a saucepan until it is reduced by half. Pour 450 grams of light brown sugar into a quart container and fill with reduced grape juice. Stir to dissolve sugar.
-
Combine all ingredients in bottom half of a cocktail shaker. Add ice, cover and shake. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and serve immediately.
